The transmission in your vehicle is critical for its operation, yet it is also one of the most complicated parts of any car. One very obvious sign that you're having problems with your transmission is a fluid leak. A faulty transmission will also be unable to work properly. You may notice this if your car hesitates as you shift gears. With a manual transmission, this could occur every time you try to shift it into a new gear.

Problems with an automatic transmission can leave you with a vehicle that simply won't move out of park, or you could have a very hard time getting your car to reverse. This components could start making odd noises that signify trouble as well, like screeching while changing gears.
